While not at my job as a mechanical engineer, I transfer 8mm, Super 8mm, and 16mm movies, photos and slides to DVD. I also specialize in customized photo video albums.
I started Blue Cloud Video in 2002 after realizing that I wanted to impact people's lives in a more meaningful way.
How do I do that?
Most people wait until they die to let their life flash before their eyes. I wanted to show them what life was in the past and could be worth living for in the future.
We started the company making photo video albums.
The concept of photo video albums has been known for quite some time. Video producers and wedding photographers would video tape photographs and "edit" them with background music. Now, in the technological age, we can do much better. We have complete control over everything. We also have the amazing technology of the DVD to make it extremely easy to view your photos and videos of the past.
People started bringing us all of their photos and videos to be incorporated into their photo video albums. So we started experimenting with equipment.
Our first 8mm transfer used a video box where the projector projected into a prism and reflected on a ground glass where a video camera would record the footage.
This allowed us to view the film, but the quality was not up to our standards.
Then in 2004, we found MovieStuff. Their workprinters and snipers provided quality that rivaled rank transfers and I bought two of their machines.
We take great pride in the quality of the work that we do. We believe your photographs, S8mm/8mm/16mm movies and slides should be archived properly for generations to come.
We use the highest quality scanners and video editing equipment to enable a professional look that you can watch with your families over and over again.

We scan slides and photos at high resolutions [up to 4800 dpi] to enable you to properly archive your records and memories forever.
We also use a modified slide projector to enable us to photograph your slides and provide rock bottom prices on your slide transfers.

What I am trying to offer is high quality transfer of your memories to new DVD media.
If you choose a photo video album you will benefit from my creative skills and "relive" your past through pictures and music. If you choose to transfer your films, you will be amazed at the quality your memories will be even though time has passed. The quality difference makes a 1965 birthday party look like it was filmed yesterday.
We do not do high volume yet which means our turnaround time is less than 30 days during the busy seasons (Thanksgiving and Christmas). If you need your project fast, just let us know and we usually can accommodate. There is an expediting fee if it is less than our normal turnaround time.
We want to help others feel their lives with their photographs and films and realize that we cannot turn back, to cherish the present and have the future to look forward to.
